"Hooey’s hushed intimacy is so entrancing that one leans in to the songs and the performances. And while there is no shortage of singers attempting the same to precious and cloying affect, Hooey never once succumbs to such artifice. She is really that good" - Bob Klanac, Beat Magazine

Samantha Hooey is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose music blends raw emotion with the spirit of Americana. Originally from Ontario and now based in Vancouver, she first captured attention with her debut album, Hey Love (2011) which earned her a nomination from the Jack Richardson Songwriter of the Year Award. Her follow-up, After the Fire (2013) further cemented her reputation for heartfelt storytelling and evocative melodies. Her latest project the EP Silver (coming spring 2025), is a deep dive into themes of the duality of life and nature, and the resiliency of the human spirit. Produced and mixed by Jeff Zipp, the EP showcases her signature ethereal harmonies and lush instrumentation pairing an upbeat energy with introspective moody lyricism. For Samantha, music is more than just self-expression - it’s a way to connect, to heal, and to create space for others to find meaning in their own stories.
